How do I take advantage of the hearing aid discount program?
Follow the for easy steps outlined in the Use the Program section to participate in the hearing aid discount program.
What kind of hearing care professionals are on the HearUSA network?
The HearUSA Hearing Care Network is made up of audiologists, professionals who are uniquely qualified to diagnose and treat hearing loss. Audiologists have a masters or doctoral degree in audiology and provide a variety of diagnostic and rehabilitative hearing care services, including the fitting of hearing aids. Each of the audiologists in our network is credentialed by HearUSA. This means that each provider must meet standard criteria for our network on an ongoing basis, including having the appropriate degree or training to perform diagnostic evaluations and testing for the selection and fitting of hearing aids, be a licensed or registered professional in the state where services are rendered, etc.
Does my discount apply to all types of hearing aids?
Yes. You receive a discount on any hearing aids that are dispensed by the provider. The hearing aids that are best for you depend on your particular hearing loss. The size, style, and circuitry will be determined by you and the provider. (Note: Cochlear Implants, FM Systems, and Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs) are outside the scope of this plan.)
Can I go to any HearUSA provider in the U.S.?
Yes. You are free to see any provider on the HearUSA Hearing Care Network as many times as you wish to receive your membership discounts.
Is this plan just like traditional insurance?
No. This is not an insurance plan. It is a discount program. When you present your membership ID card, a discount is taken off the price of the hearing services or hearing aids and you pay the discounted price. There is no claim form and no limit to the number of times you can use the discount program.
Can I use the discount program with my current insurance benefit?
No. This program cannot be used in conjunction with HMO, managed care or other insurance programs that cover hearing testing and hearing aids.
How much will I save?
The amount of savings does vary since hearing aids differ in price according to selected type, electronic features, etc. Generally, hearing aid costs increase with more complex and sophisticated circuitry and smaller size. You will save 10-30% off of the providers usual and customary charges on both services and hearing aids. You may request a specific price quote from your audiologist when you present your card.
What if the audiologist I want to see is not on the HearUSA network?
Please use the HearUSA Hearing Care Network
